On May 25, 1958, Myrna married Melvin Glen Nelsen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca. To Myrna’s family,
We are so sincerely sorry to hear of Myrna’s passing. We just found out today and have to say how shocked we are. She was a sparkly person who always made us laugh when we saw her. What a great spirit – we will always remember her fondly.

Melvin and Family, I am so sorry for your loss… We had so many good times bowling in Minden. I’m sorry I couldn’t make any of the services, but know you have all been in my thoughts and prayers. Thinking of you…

  3. Scott and Nancy Pigsley says:

We are truly saddened by the loss of Myrna. We have known the family for a very long time and enjoyed her smiling faces and how she enjoyed watching the kids and grandkids in what ever activity they were in. The community will be at a loss. I will miss seeing her at the fair. Our hearts go out to the family. We are truly sorry, but we are truly blessed to have known her.

  4. Steve Nelsen says:

Thank you all so much for your thoughtful and kind remarks. Mom was such an incredible and beautiful person whose depth of love and caring for her family was such that it would be futile for me to try to adequately express in words. It was a love that was unconditional and eternal, as was ours for her. Our world is quite certainly a much, much better place for Mom having been in it. We will all miss her dearly.

    Steve Nelsen

  5. Les & Georgia Brehmer says:

We got acquainted with Myrna at Carley Drug. She was always so cheerful and pleasant. We liked visiting with her. Our sympathies to her husband and family. She will be missed.

  6. Julie Thompson says:

Myrna was an unique friend over the years, but during high school years we were special buddies who shared giggles in and out of classes! She always had a smile and was such fun to be around. God bless you, Melvin and family, and Bonnie as sister too.

  7. Myrna was a unique friend over the years; But during high school years we were special “buddies” sharing lots of giggles in and out of classes! She always had a smile and was much fun to be around. She will be missed by many people. God be with you, Melvin and family . Bonnie as sister too.

  8. Shirley Mae Nielsen Forshay says:

I send my Love to Mel and his family, what a shock this was and I want you all to know how wonderful your Mom always was to me since I was a child living there in Harlan and then coming back to visit many times. She was always the best Hostess, always wanting to make sure I was taken care of as she did with everyone she loved. She was my Cousin and also a dear Friend and I will miss her!
May the LORD wrap his loving arms around each of you and give you peace at this sad time.
    Love always Shirley

  9. Joanne Schnackel says:

Melvin and Myrna and family lived north of our 390th home at Shelby for over 20 years. My sympathy goes to Melvin and his children and family members. Knowing them made our time there a very pleasant stay. God bless you all. Joanne

  10. Larry and Lucille Schlensig says:

Myrna will be sorely missed. She always had a smile on her face, and a kind word to say. You could count on Myrna whenever you went to the drugstore for a friendly face when you felt bad.
